Are you prepared

The devastating quake and tsunami in Japan are reminders that we live in earthquake country. The Hayward fault, considered to be the most dangerous fault in the United States, run right through our city.
Now is the time to check and restock your emergency supplies or get started if you do not have supplies already. Keep a stock of supplies at home, in your car, and at work. You can find information about preparedness at www.72hours.org (based in San Francisco),a wonderfully thorough site that provides good basic information.

Borders Closing Down

Border closing down! I'm going to miss this store terribly, nice place to spend hours on week end, sipping coffee and browsing magazine .
Online booksellers may be cheaper, but they can't replace the bookstore experience. The joy of walking into Borders and browsing the shelve or reading quietly near the cafe made me so happy. I will miss Borders very ,very much!
